The Pythagorean Theorem says that for any right triangle, a^2+b^2=c^2. This means if you know two of the sides, you can solve a basic equation to find the length of the third side. • When studying the Pythagorean Theorem, it is common to see examples where all 3 sides are integers. These are called Pythagorean Triples , and there are an infinite number of these triangles. • The Pythagorean Theorem only works for right triangles. For acute or obtuse triangles, you need to use a more general formula: the law of cosines. • To learn more Geometry, you can watch our playlist from the beginning: • https://bit.ly/GeometrySocratica • You might also like our videos about How to Be a Great Student! • http://bit.ly/StudyTipsPlaylist • ♦♦♦♦♦♦♦♦♦♦ • Ways to support our channel: • ► Join our Patreon : / socratica • ► Make a one-time PayPal donation: https://www.paypal.me/socratica • ► We also accept Bitcoin @ 1EttYyGwJmpy9bLY2UcmEqMJuBfaZ1HdG9 • Thank you! • ♦♦♦♦♦♦♦♦♦♦ • Connect with us! • Facebook: / socraticastudios • Instagram: / socraticastudios • Twitter: / socratica • ♦♦♦♦♦♦♦♦♦♦ • Geometer: Louise McCartney • Artwork: Kelly Vivanco • Written by Michael Harrison • Directed Produced by Kimberly Hatch Harrison Michael Harrison • ♦♦♦♦♦♦♦♦♦♦
