A video about the exhibition Faces of 1812 with curator Michael Eamon. • Faces of 1812 showcases some of the men and women, both combatants and civilians, who experienced the War of 1812. It presents the conflict as a rich and continuing source of artistic inspiration, commemoration, and reflection. • • The War of 1812 united French- and English-speaking Canadians, First Peoples, and the British against a common foe. The confidence gained through their successful joint defence helped lay the foundation for modern Canada. • • Faces of 1812 complements a related exhibition entitled 1812, now running at the Canadian War Museum in Ottawa. Both exhibitions are on view at the museum until January 6, 2013. • • Directed by Katherine A. Jeans, Vice-President, Sound Venture Productions • Produced by Sound Venture Productions, Ottawa, 2012 • (Running time: 6:48 minutes) • © Library and Archives Canada
