This is the seven-decade rosary with seven meditations on the joys of Mary. Although the Dominican Rosary is the most common rosary, other rosaries exist such as the Seven Sorrows Rosary. The story of this rosary goes back to St. Bonaventure and St. Bernadine of Siena, who promulgated it, and of a Franciscan postulant that collected flowers for Mary each morning. When he entered the Franciscan Order, he could not go and pick flowers, but a vision of Mary reassured him. He was told he could make a crown of roses by meditating on Our Lady's joys. • • Music is from Youtube Library: Bach Cello Suite No. 1, G Major, Prelude - Cooper Cannell • All images are in the public domain (background painting and foreground paintings both from prior to the 20th century). • This video was created by Michael Kress.
