Pheasant Taxidermy LOTS of Pin feathered on rump Art of Taxidermy

This pheasant was harvested in southern Alberta, got an excellent long tail and the spurs were nice and long too. The rump feathers were ALL in blood and growing... which makes me think this bird might have been grabbed by either a raptor or a predator (which only ended up with a whole lot of plucked feathers) because the pheasant slipped and got away. .. in these occasion a big patch of feathers will be plucked and then all will be growing out at the same time...Either way thats what we have to deal with. Pheasants usually hold their wings dropped down the sides of their body, but also sometimes they hold them up and over their rump (saddle) which is the pose we will be using for this bird to cover the problems.
