The monologue by actor David Thewlis is from the film NAKED directed by Mike Leigh. I sampled a dog 'barking' and a cockerel 'crowing' [as they do at 'dawn', apparently] hence the inspiration to incorporate them into this video! • This Mix begins where Mix 1 left off and for the first couple of minutes into the video, I recorded the ending of Mix 1 'in reverse' - yes, it's playing backwards! Due to the fact at the end of Mix 1 there's a long, drawn out 'break down' of the track, leaving just a few untuned percussion instruments [e.g. wood blocks, guiro] playing very short notes, it actually doesn't sound as if it's being played in reverse! If my explanation is unclear, see how long you can listen to a song by Abba being played in reverse! [I guess no longer than 10 seconds before it completely does your head in! LOL] • This Mix is based around the concept that we are living inside a 'Black Hole' and our Universe was created from a Singularity at the nucleus of a Black Hole where inside, the laws of physics [as we know them] break down and time becomes warped. In fact, so warped that if we entered a Black Hole, we would be frozen in time until we die. In reality, this would never happen because we would be 'spaghettified', torn apart and incinerated within seconds! The gradual slowing down of time is depicted in this mix by a repetitive beeping sound from an electric alarm clock [which starts beeping at 17'48 ] and gradually becomes slower and slower until it grinds to a halt. [I spent hours slowing down single beeps by 1% each time, and one by one they become lower in pitch and longer in length]. • Humans did NOT evolve from the 'monkey' otherwise there wouldn't be any living among us [but this is a topic for another day]. I wanted to get my point across about MAN and chose two very contrasting examples [towards the end of the track]. When I look at all the beautiful fish, birds animals, to think that MAN has ruined much of their natural habitat, poached rhinos and elephants to near extinction, responsible for global warming [CO2 emissions] which has already killed vast numbers of coral reefs [which is / was home to thousands of different species of aquatic marine life] and will inevitably push the polar bear into extinction, with countries arming themselves with nuclear weapons etc, I really don't see the human race living for another million years because we'll fuck up this planet before any black hole, 'devil comet', supernova or false vacuum decay demolishes it first, so why worry about the end of the Universe!? • In any case, the majority of us will be dead before the end of this century and furthermore, the Sun will burn long before the Milky Way and Andromeda Galaxies rip each other apart when they collide. • Why on Earth [pardon the pun - I just couldn't resist it! LOL] astronomers and cosmologists want to 'communicate' with 'beings' from other planets when the majority of people and countries on our planet have problems communicating, despite the fact we all speak the same fundamental language [once translated]. Let's face it, we've done a pretty good job at destroying this planet within the last 70 years, so imagine what it will be like in 700 years! • On that note, I hope you enjoy the music and the 'comical' sections [watch out for 'LITTLE DOT' and the pair of subtitles that meet to perform a little display of 'synchronised dancing'. And you're correct, this mix is much more 'whacky' than the first, but this is why it's dedicated to my mate PAUL - his middle name is WHACKY! ;-)) • I had some technical issues 2 weeks ago and lost footage which took me absolutely hours...although it's not included in this, I did convert it to an MP4 file when I thought I'd finished it...that was 7 conversions ago!
