The Acapulco Gold is an original IC-based one knob dirt box, based on a cranked Sunn Model T amplifier. The Acapulco Gold is capable of audience-pummeling doom tones with its power amp distortion as well as soaring leads and everything in between. The pedal contains one knob, volume, which means that the guitar's volume knob works as an input saturator for a touch-sensitive dirt pedal that's expressive without being overly complicated. When rolling back the volume knob on your guitar, the Acapulco gold cleans up well and gives a great old school tone. When the guitar's volume knob is rolled back just a bit, the Acapulco Gold transforms into a thick, gritty overdrive. However, when guitars pickups and pedal's volume are cranked, the Acapulco Gold can transform even the most mild mannered Telecaster into an antimatter-spitting doom machine.
