The rounded, spacious rear makes it far more practical than the standard XF, and there's a maximum boot capacity of 1,675 litres, compared to 963 litres in the saloon). That's on a par with rivals such as the BMW 5 Series Touring and Audi A6 Avant, but a little behind the Mercedes E-Class Estate. There are two diesel engines available: a 2.2-litre and a 3.0-litre V6. The former is noisy when you're accelerating hard, while the latter is far smoother and faster.
