Hello Beautiful People!!! • This is a delicious nutritious soup that is hearty and full of flavor. Easy to make just follow the majority of the instructions on the package of Beans that comes especially for 15 Bean Soup. • Traditional Cooking Method: • Soaking: Place beans in a large pot, cover with 2 quarts of water. Allow beans to soak overnight, or at least 8 hours. (I soaked mine overnight.End result Not shown in video) • After soaking, drain the water and rinse beans until water runs clear. Inspect beans carefully for any stones or debris. • Add 3 quarts of water • 1 Cup of Chopped Onions • 2 Cloves of Minced Garlic (about 2 tbsp.) • 1 14.5 oz.to 15 oz. Can stewed or diced tomatoes • 1 tsp. chili powder • Juice of 1 lemon • 2 Lbs (32oz.) Turkey Ham cut into about 1/4-inch cubes. • Place Cleaned Soaked Beans, Water, Tomatoes, Onions, Minced Garlic, Lemon Juice, and Chilli Powder into a crock pot Slow Cooker (or big Stew Pot with a lid) Cook on High for 4-6 hours. If you don't have the time to sit and babysit the soup you can add in your ham here also, otherwise I suggest for more of a down home ham taste you add in your ham just before the last 2 hours of cooking. • If you purchase Hurst's HamBeens it comes with a small packet of ham flavoring which should be added 1 to 2 minutes more before cooking is completed. Salt and pepper to taste. Makes approximately 16, 1 cup servings. • Quick Cook Stove-top Method: • Place rinsed beans in a pot with 3 quarts of water. Bring to a rapid boil. Reduce heat, add 1lbs (16oz.) of turkey ham cut into 1/4-inch cubes, cover and continue boiling 60-70 minutes. Stir occasionally to prevent sticking. After 60 minutes, add the rest of the ingredients, including the remaining 16 ounces (1LB.) of turkey ham cut into 3/4-inch cubes. Simmer for 30-45 minutes. Add contents of flavor packet 1 to 2 minutes before cooking is completed. Salt and pepper to taste. • Note: Dry beans are a raw agricultural product. Although the food processor carefully cleans these beans, stones and debris may be present. Sort and rinse beans prior to cooking. Depending on water hardness, cooking time may need to be increased. • • Number of Servings: 16 • • My apologies to anyone else who may have a recipe that is the same or similar.
