In this video I explain how to wire the Pt100 RTD to the CAL3300 and then program the controller for RTD input in the Level 2 menu. • The term RTD is an abbreviation for Resistance Temperature Detector. • The most widely used type of RTD in industrial applications is the Pt100. • This is one of the most accurate types of temperature sensor. It has a platinum element and a resistance of 100 Ohms at 0 deg C. • Other types of RTD are available, for example Pt1000, which has a resistance of 1000 Ohms at 0 deg C.
