this is a Valor paraffin heater from c. 1920's. I bought it from an antique store and have done a basic restore on it, which involved replacing the original wick that was stuck inside the heater. • this is very similar to the Perfection 525 heater. Valor is the English version, and also popular in Australia before electricity was available in homes from 1900-1940. • some people use them these days as backup heaters if the grid goes down. • Wicks from Miles Stair's wick shoppe.
