This song was inspired by the Australian Indigenous Dreamtime story about Tiddalick the Frog. It was created in collaboration with the children from Kindaburra Early Learning Centre • http://www.kindaburra.com.au/ • Lyrics • C • Tiddalick was a very thirsty frog • G F G • He started drinking water and he just wouldn’t stop • C • He drank it ALL up, there was nothing left to find • F G C • His friends were so thirsty what he did was so unkind • Then the wise old owl said “if we can make him laugh he’ll spill out all the water and then • G F G • we can take a bath” • C • They all JUMPED UP and said with glee • F G C • “if we can make him laugh we won’t go thirsty!” • So the Emu tried to fly • and the Joey did a hop. • Goanna sang some opera! • G F G • but Tiddalick's lips stayed tightly locked! • C • kookaburras jokes didn't help a single bit! • Neither did Wombat or Bilby's • F G C • super duper crazy tricks! • Dm • Everyone was sad • D* ( Dm only fingering the F ) • Everyone was blue • Dm • They had tried everything • D* G C • There was nothing left to do • C • Then Nyang the eel came out from behind a log • He jumped up on his tail • G F G • And he danced around the frog! • He wriggled and he jiggled • and then spun around in a whirl • And Tiddalicks big mouth • F G C • began to curl…. • G F C • And then he laughed! • • All the water gushed out from Tiddalicks mouth • G F G • And returned to it’s place in the the north east west and south • C • Everyone rejoiced! They were happy as can be • Now that the water had returned • F G C • They wouldn’t go thirsty!
