Copper (II) Bromide (CuBr2), Ammonium Chloride (NH4Cl) under the microscope 🔬. • NH4Cl solution is added dropwise, gradually enriching the system composition in ammonium chloride. In doing so, we see a shift in the crystalline phases being formed, with some phases disappearing, and new ones appearing. • Aqueous solubilities, deliquescent relative humidities: • CuBr2: 55.7 g/100 mL (20 °C) (DRH 41.5%)    • CuBr2 🔬   • NH4Cl: 39.7 g/100 mL (25 °C) (DRH (79%)    • NH4Cl 🔬   • - • CuCl2: 75.7 g/100 mL (25 °C) (DRH 68%)    • CuCl2, Citric Acid 🔬   • Salt hydrate pair equilibria: • CuBr2·4H2O = CuBr2 + 4H2O (g) (RH 42%) • - • CuCl2·2H2O = CuCl2 + 2H2O(g) (RH 5.5%) • What else do we see? 👀🔬 • If you want to see some of my theoretical work in chemistry, see for example: • https://www.pnas.org/doi/10.1073/pnas... • https://arxiv.org/abs/2306.09553 • To attend our research seminar on autocatalysis, visit: • https://researchseminars.org/seminar/...
