If you're using the Depo shot for contraception, your doctor will recommend that you get a repeat injection every 13 weeks. If you're a little bit late, or you're nearing that amount of time, and you're wondering if it's still effective, then it's helpful to know that studies have shown that ovulation doesn't happen for about a minimum of 14 weeks after the last injection is given. So that 13 weeks gives you a small grace period of about a week or two. So just make sure to go back and get your injections on time. And if you are late, then your doctor may recommend a pregnancy test before you get another injection, and also back-up contraception for about 7 days. If you have any other questions for me in the future, feel free to ask them on our Facebook page at   / intermountainmoms  , and recommend us to your friends and family too.
