The song Last Stardust that's featured in the Ufotable anime adaptation of Fate/stay night: Unlimited Blade Works is something that's stuck with me for years. It's an amazing song by Aimer that perfectly embodies the journey of Shirou Emiya and his confrontation with Archer and their hypocritical ideals. But when reading the lyrics that speak about abandoning love, memories that were lost and the courage to move forwards with one's ideals, I was reminded of Kirito's journey throughout the story of Sword Art Online, specifically during Alicization when he has his broken soul put back together by those he's saved and loved throughout his journey, ultimately becoming Star King Kirito.
