How to bake British Ginger Biscuits Makes 15 cookies

These eggless Ginger Biscuits, also known as Cornish Fairing have an intense ginger and spice flavor for a perfect accompaniment to a hot drink. • Adapted from bbc.co.uk and sainsbury's magazine • Makes 15 cookies • Ingredients: • 160 grams / 1 cup plain flour • 4 grams / 1 teaspoon baking powder • 2 grams / 1/3 teaspoon baking soda • 7 grams / 3 teaspoons ground ginger • 1 gram / 1/2 teaspoon ground allspice • 1 gram / 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon • 1/4 teaspoon sea salt • 100 grams / 1/2 cup superfine/caster sugar • 80 grams / 3.5 ounces butter • 66 grams / 3 tablespoons golden syrup • Directions: • Preheat your oven to 180C/350F and line a baking tray with greaseproof paper. • Sift the flour, ground ginger, allspice, cinnamon, baking powder, baking soda and salt into a medium bowl. • Add the sugar and stir to combine. • Rub in the butter until the mixture resembles breadcrumbs. • Pour the golden syrup into the dry ingredients and stir to form your cookie dough. • Scoop up portions of dough and place onto your baking tray, flattening slightly and ensure there is 1 ½ inches between each cookie. • Bake for 9 minutes until lightly golden on the edges. • Remove and bash the tray firmly down onto your counter to flatten the biscuits. • Allow to cool on the baking tray for 5 minutes before transferring onto your cooling rack. • Serve up with a cup of your favorite hot beverage. • Enjoy! • Recipe can be found at https://roamingtaste.com/ginger-biscu... • Follow me here: • Support https://ko-fi.com/roamingtaste • Website https://roamingtaste.com/ • Instagram / roamingtaste • Facebook / roamingtaste • Pinterest https://pin.it/1eYbqzF
