The PACT Urban Peace Program Thoughts

The PACT Urban Peace Program is an award-winning grassroots registered Canadian charity dedicated to working with, supporting and empowering underserved and at-risk young people, as well as youth already in conflict with the law. • This music video is the culmination of an incredible creative journey that began almost two years ago when some of the youth and the instructors of the PACTMusic program wrote, composed and then professionally recorded their first original song called Thoughts. • Earlier this year, the PACTMusic and PACTFilm programs decided to come together to collaborate on making this music video. It was decided that we would look outside of the program for a fresh perspective and creative vision and were lucky enough to have Philip Nozuka come on board to direct the video and work with the youth in our program to make it a reality. • Thoughts follows lead vocalist Siya as she deals with her thoughts moving from the hectic urban landscape into a more peaceful natural environment bringing some others along for the journey. This song and video provides a unique and creative view into the inner workings of the minds of our youth, shining a light on the importance of emotional health, the difficulties many young people face, and the thoughts they have which can contribute to depression and anxiety. It is also a testament of what is truly possible with the help of the community and the incredible potential of young people when they are fully supported in a caring and nurturing environment. • Please join me in celebrating this amazing achievement and share widely.
