When we move our head, we should follow our eyes. Head and neck nodding is designed to reintroduce proper neuromotor patterns, align of soft tissues in and around the spine, improve the curvature of the spine itself, and repetition deepens the nervous system's connection from the brain, through the cervical spine (neck) and to the rest of the body. • This is where vestibular activation really begins! This is also where it gets more complex - breathing, eye movement AND head movement may sound simple, but it may be harder than you think. • Try it from full lying position, then from your elbows. • Always lead with eye movement. This activates the VESTIBULAR system • Eyes lead the way → Head follows the eyes → Body follows the head! • ALL muscles of the body are connected to head movements • Remembering how to move your head sharpens reflexes and improves connections to rest of body, making everything else much easier! • REMEMBER ALL NERVES GO FROM BRAIN THROUGH NECK TO BODY • Fun Fact: C3, C4, C5 keeps the diaphragm alive - the cervical spine is extremely important in keeping the brain connected through the neck to the diaphragm. • Most important of all “moving” RESETs • Can be ADDED to ALL functional movements for complexity and added reflexive stability and control • Sign Up TODAY to join the MoveMentality Open Gym at Got Your Back! • Visit US at • https://www.gotyourbacktotalhealth.com • https://thegybfoundation.org • And follow us on instagram • @gybfoundation • @gotyourback_health
