Developed and published by Toaplan in 1989 • This Sega Genesis conversion of Toaplan's arcade release is a good shooter, and a pretty daunting affair; it starts of easily enough, but ramps up the difficulty. • Positives include the three main ship weapons and power-up system. I definitely preferred to stick with the lightning gun once upgraded, mainly because it locks on to enemies and allows you to continue inflicting damage on a target, even when you're having to move around the screen to avoid enemy fire. • I also preferred not to get the maximum ship speed after discovering just how greasy-twitchy it can be, so I avoided collecting the S tokens for much of the game, even if they do award 5,000 points. • The game effectively loops 5 times, with each round progressively more difficult than the last. Each round concludes with a different ending, with the game finally ending for real on completion of the fifth round. • Chapters • 0:00:00 Round 1 • 0:30:09 Round 1Ending • 0:30:29 Round 2 • 1:00:48 Round 2 Ending • 1:01:19 Round 3 • 1:31:29 Round 3 Ending • 1:31:58 Round 4 • 2:02:13 Round 4 Ending • 2:02:42 Round 5 • 2:33:03 Round 5 Ending • #truxton • #segagenesis • #retrogames
