Each pig had a different idea of how to do it. • The first little pig was lazy and quickly built his house out of straw. The second little pig, though slightly more diligent, built his house out of sticks. The third little pig, however, was hardworking and took his time to construct a sturdy house made of bricks. • One day, a hungry wolf came along. He saw the straw house and knocked on the door. Little pig, little pig, let me come in! he said. • Not by the hair of my chinny-chin-chin! replied the first pig. • Then I'll huff, and I'll puff, and I'll blow your house down! said the wolf. And with one strong blow, the straw house collapsed, forcing the first pig to run to his brother's stick house. • The wolf followed and repeated his demand at the stick house. Again, the pigs refused. The wolf huffed and puffed and blew the stick house down as well. Both pigs ran to the brick house of their hardworking brother. • At the brick house, the wolf tried the same tactic. Little pigs, little pigs, let me come in! he demanded. • Not by the hair of our chinny-chin-chins! they replied. • The wolf huffed and puffed, but no matter how hard he tried, he couldn't blow the brick house down. Exhausted and defeated, the wolf eventually gave up and left. • The three little pigs rejoiced, knowing they were safe because of the sturdy brick house. • Moral of the Story: • Hard work and perseverance pay off.
