His son, Louis, has since carried on the tradition of making great apizza for the New Haven community at Abate Apizza Seafood Restaurant on Wooster Street since the '90s. Truly, the apizza here is only outdone by the pizzaiolo himself, affectionately known as Louie, who makes everyone feel welcome when they walk through the door. With famous neighbors all around him, many have discovered Abates because of long lines down the street, but this is a restaurant that deserves some recognition in its own right.
