De Quervain's Tenosynovitis is a painful condition affecting the tendons on the thumb side of the wrist. The patient has had this condition for approximately a year and has been struggling with pain for a long time. Therapeutic ultrasound is commonly used by Physical therapists and Occupational therapists. This machine is used to help reduce pain and inflammation while increasing circulation and mobility. Ultrasound is applied using an applicator that comes directly in contact with the patient’s skin. Gel is used on the patient's body part which is injured to help reduce friction.
