But some scenes were changed to suit the Telugu audience. It also drew inspirations from the NTR-starring Telugu film, Yugandhar (1979) which drew inspirations from another Hindi film titled Don and one of Rajinikanth's 1980 Tamil film with the same title. Prabhas Raju Uppalapati plays the lead role, where he plays dual roles of the characters Billa and Swami Ranga, with Anushka Shetty and Namitha playing the heroines.[1] The film, which began in October 2008, released in April 2009. Actress Jayasudha, who had earlier starred in Yugandhar (1979) as Jaya, the first Telugu remake of Don, has a guest role as Janaki in this film.
