CCM used their JDP cap protection for the hip guards, which is designed to disperse impact energy away from the joint. The kidney and lower thigh guards are molded PE caps that provide solid coverage while low-density foams increase comfort and feel. The lower spine is well protected by a hard, closed-cell foam that is reinforced by a plastic insert and low-density foam.
