Basic grounding concepts and calculation inputs will be introduced, and the need for this type of modeling and analysis will be discussed. Using software programs to model grounding systems and perform analysis is now standard for all but the simplest grounding designs, and commercially available programs have many uses. We will explain some of the most common uses of fully featured grounding programs and show example results for a simple grid design.
