Assyrian-American singer Rachel Sarah Thomas fuses folkloric and pop music from Iraq, Iran, and Syria with funk, soul, and rock n' roll. She explored her musical identity in Chicago's independent music scene, collaborating with renowned artists like Thelonious Martin, NYLO, and Talib Kweli. With her pop project KSRA, she produced a record with Grammy-winning duo Tha Bizness. Despite her success, she realized there wasn't a space where she felt fully represented. So, she created her newest project, Sheekar. Sheekar celebrates Rachel's blended identity with a powerful blending of East-meets-West influences to showcase the beauty of her culture.
