This past summer, I participated in the World Soundtrack Awards Film 2018 Scoring Competition. The requirement was to write a score for a scene in Isao Takahata's animation Grave of the Fireflies which was left music-less in the Studio Ghibili release. I had a blast writing for the competition, utilizing different techniques for a full orchestra.
