Snorkeling in Alicante Spain Urbanova and Baños de la Reina

A video of some snorkeling I did in southern Spain (Alicante), in particular in the Saladar beach (Urbanova) and in Baños de la Reina (Campello). • Urbanova is part of Alicante city, but it's slightly apart from it and surrounded by a natural reserve, so the beaches there are very well preserved and, most of the year, very calm. • Baños de la Reina is a spot around 20 Km north of Alicante city, in the Spanish White Coast (Costa Blanca). There is a legend that says that a Moorish queen ordered to build them so that she could peacefully swim while being out of sight of everyone and without the waves bothering her. However, its true origin is an ancient roman fish farm. Archeological findings from more than 5000 years ago were found there, and now you can swim amongs that piece of history! Since the terrain is rocky, it has cristal-clear water and many sealife, from algae to crabs, including (usually not dangerous) jellyfish and many different types and sizes of fish. It's one of the best snorkeling spots of the area for a reason! It is edited with Kdenlive. This is the first video in which I recorded underwater footage. I also used 2.7K video (even if exporting in 1080), to be able to crop some footage. I experimented with Kdenlive stabilization to improve the rather shaky underwater video and also with its motion tracking options, to track the position of the jellyfish in the frames and then apply a zoom-in and keyframed transformation based on the motion tracking to try to keep it centered in the image. While recording the videos, particularly outside the water, I shot steadier clips with smoother movements.
