Country Fried Steaks • Ingredients • 8 cubed steaks • 1 tbsp Canadian steak blend • 1 tbsp buttery steakhouse • (I use Kinder’s ) • 1 tbsp garlic powder • 1 tbsp onion powder • 1 tbsp thyme • 1 cup milk or buttermilk • 2 eggs • 2 cups flour • THE GRAVY • 4 tbsp olive oil • 1/2 chopped onion • 1/4 cup flour • 2 c water • 1 tsp salt • 1 tsp pepper • 1 tsp onion • Oil used: Canola • Tools: Meat tenderizing tool • Frying Temp: 350 degrees • Frying time: about 8 to 10 minutes • Instructions • To create a mouthwatering country fried steak, start by laying a piece of parchment paper on the countertop and placing your steaks on top. Next, cover the steaks with another piece of parchment paper. Using the flat side of a meat tenderizer, gently pound the steaks a few times to flatten them. Remove the top parchment paper and switch to the textured side of the tenderizer to tenderize the steaks further. In a bowl, combine the Canadian steak blend, buttery steakhouse seasoning, garlic powder, onion powder, and thyme, mixing everything together. Season both sides of the steaks with half of this mixture before setting them aside. In a separate bowl, whisk together the milk and eggs until well combined. Add the steaks into the milk and egg mixture, ensuring they are fully coated. In another large bowl, mix the flour with the remaining seasoning. Heat oil in a large skillet to 350 degrees. Once the oil is hot, add the steaks and cook for about 7 to 8 minutes. Once cooked, transfer them to a draining rack to keep them crispy. In a different skillet set over medium heat, add oil and chopped onions. Sauté the onions until they are translucent, then sprinkle in the flour. Cook the flour until it reaches your preferred shade of brown, then gradually add water, stirring until it thickens into a gravy. Season with salt, pepper, and onion powder. Finally, add the steaks to the gravy, cover, and let them simmer for about 15 minutes. Serve with mashed potatoes or rice and enjoy! • Note( you can marinate these for a couple of hours to make them more tender) #countryfriedsteak #yummyfood #delicious #lovetocook #cookingathome #recipes #countrycooking
