He is the current Under 14 World Champion, the #1 player in America for his age, and the youngest International Master in America. While filming the video, Kayden was invited to compete in the 2013 US Chess Championship. It is the most prestigious chess event in the United States, and features 24 of the country's strongest competitors. Kayden is mentored by World Champion Garry Kasparov, who is considered by many to be the greatest chess player of all time. • The human chess game seen in the video was modeled after a famous chess game played by Garry Kasparov and Veselin Topalov in 1999. It has come to be known as Kasparov's Immortal. Not every move in the human chess game can be shown in the video. But on set we went through each step, move for move, matching exactly the game as played by Kasparov and Topalov except for the final move where we show the white queen capturing the black king. We took license here as it seemed more appropriate to show the queen killing the king rather than having the king simply resign. We thought it was pretty cool to model our human chess game after a game played by World Champion Garry Kasparaov, who is also Kayden's mentor. • The drums in the song were done by Casey Cooper. Casey is a drummer from Atlanta, GA who is well known on YouTube. We were so impressed by his drum cover of Skyfall that we asked him if he would share his drum track with us to use for our own cover of Skyfall. Casey agreed and sent us a drum track that provided the right foundation for the tone we wanted to create in our version of the song. You can see Casey's YouTube video response to our video here: • Skyfall - Adele - Cover (Full Song) -... • The song was recorded and mixed by Jake Bowen at Big Idea Music Productions. Jake is an accomplished audio engineer who has worked with other well-known YouTube artists such as the Piano Guys. Jake also plays one of the black bishops in the video. • Nanette Scheetz and Austin Holden play the black queen and the white king. They are members of the Brigham Young University Ballroom Dance company. • Many of the costumes for the video were designed and custom-made specifically for the project by Karena Potter. Her husband, Jon Potter, provided the weapons. Jon plays one of the white bishops. Both Karena and Jon can be seen dancing in our Bad Romance music video as well. Jon and Karena are joined by dozens of individuals who donated hundreds of hours to make the project a reality. • The white queen is played by Shelby Smith, who is known for her roles in several full length motion pictures.
