Ahh, the trend of long bass drums. Thankfully 18 deep bass drums were a fad and seem to be phasing out, but there are still plenty of them out there. My buddy had a 22x18 Pearl Vision bass drum that he needed cut down. We wanted to slice it down to 22x14 but were only able to make it 12 and some change, basically 13 . It definitely has more attack now!
