Dead Silence: She was Mary Shaw all along • What’s happening in this Dead Silence movie clip? • Jamie (Ryan Kwanten) goes back to his father’s house. There, he’s confronted by Mary but repels her by throwing Billy into the fireplace. Later that night, Lisa starts playing with Billy while Jamie is out to get some food. Suddenly, a figure approaches Lisa, causing her to scream. When he comes back, Jamie finds Lisa dead with her tongue cut out. Suspected for the murder, Jamie is taken into custody by Detective Jim Lipton (Donald Wahlberg) but is quickly released for lack of evidence. After checking inside Billy’s box, Jamie finds a message mentioning Mary Shaw , a deceased ventriloquist from his hometown, Raven's Fair. He decides to get back to this town in order to learn the truth about his wife’s murder. There, he hears that a long time ago, the once famous ventriloquist Mary Shaw was humiliated by the young Michael Walker, Jamie’s great uncle. The boy disappeared later and Mary was accused by the Ashten family and lynched. Mary’s last wish was to be turned into a doll before she was buried.
