The British Times reported that the 1904 Gordon Bennett motor race took place in Germany on June 17, 1904, in the Taunus Forest. The location was suggested by Kaiser Wilhelm II, who also attended the race. The course was 130km (79 miles) long, however the drivers needed to complete four laps of the course. There were 18 starters from eight countries, including three British entrants.
