The four songs performed here are all from my album “Magnolia” that came out February of this year. It was an undertaking to try to arrange these trio improvisatory pieces into a completely solo set, and I’m very happy with how it came out. Moving the instrumentation from completely acoustic to entirely electric brings a different feel to these songs, but I feel the emotion and heart of the music still comes through clearly. • Secret Sounds was the perfect format for me to try these songs in a different way. It was very similar to how we recorded the album to begin with - live, single take, single room recording that placed just as much emphasis on the feeling in the room as the music we could capture.
