This video introduces prefixes for GCSE Physics. It is often more convenient to add a prefix to very small and very large quantities. • A millimetre (mm) is one one thousandth (1/1000) of a metre. • A centimetre (cm) is one one hundredth (1/100) of a metre. • A kilometre (km) is one thousand metres. • A megametre (Mm), which is something we never use but if we did, would be one million metres. • Thanks for watching, • Lewis • Relevant for GCSE Physics 9-1 in the following exam boards: • AQA (including Trilogy) • Edexcel • CCEA • OCR A • OCR B • WJEC • CIE (Cambridge International Examinations) IGCSE • Edexcel International IGCSE • _____________________________________ • MY PHYSICS WEBSITES • Find even more videos organised by exam board and topic at: • GCSE Physics Online • ► https://www.gcsephysicsonline.com • A Level Physics Online • ► https://www.alevelphysicsonline.com • MY YOUTUBE CHANNEL • Your support in watching this video has been invaluable!
