Today Nick and I wanted to show you our homemade, dairy-free oat milk matcha latte recipe (which has quickly become my favorite drink in the world!) It's super easy to make at home, and we think it's better than even the bougiest NYC matcha 😉 • After I stopped drinking coffee last year in the name of adrenal health, I found myself desperately missing the act of a comforting morning ritual. • I ended up learning about the cancer prevention benefits of green tea from a naturopathic doctor who taught at my school, and decided to give matcha a try. It still contains caffeine, but also includes an amino acid called L-Theanine which slows the release of that caffeine and has a calming, relaxing effect on the central nervous system. • Chef Nicholas ended up perfecting this latte recipe and now we can’t live without it! • ❤️ Don’t forget to let me know how you like the recipe in the comments, and subscribe to my channel so you never miss a video! • -- RECIPE INFO -- • EQUIPMENT: • ✘ blender • ✘ tablespoon • ✘ teaspoon • ✘ measuring cup (liquid) • ✘ small pot • INGREDIENTS: • ✘ 1/2 cup water • ✘ 2 cups oat milk • ✘ 1 tbsp matcha powder • ✘ 2 tsp honey • ✘ 8-10 drops stevia • ✘ 3-4 shakes of salt • SPECIFIC BRANDS USED + LINKS: • ✘ Matcha powder - https://amzn.to/2UTMG4D (organic and ceremonial grade!) • ✘ Oat milk - http://thrv.me/59tftp (I use Thrive Market’s oat milk because it’s organic and only has two ingredients: oats and water) • ✘ Stevia tincture - https://amzn.to/2VHEC4b (only one that doesn’t have an aftertaste for me) • DIRECTIONS: • 1. Heat the 1/2 cup water in your pot on the stove until it’s just steaming, not boiling. You don’t want the water getting too hot because the matcha powder is so delicate! • 2. Once the water starts to steam, transfer to your blender. • 3. Add the matcha powder, honey, stevia tincture (optional), and salt. • 4. Quickly blend on a low setting to make sure the ingredients are fully combined while they steep. • 5. While the matcha tea steeps in the blender, heat your 2 cups of oat milk on the stove. Like the water, you only want the oat milk to steam instead of boil. Once the oat milk is steaming, add to your blender. • 6. Blend everything together for 30 seconds on a slightly higher setting to get that nice frothy layer at the top. • 7.
