OCTOBER 5 ~ At God's Bidding | C H Spurgeon | Updated | Devotional | Faith's Checkbook | Be Very Inspired • * Faith's Checkbook (or Chequebook of the Bank of Faith in the UK) is a daily devotional written by Charles H Spurgeon in the later years of his life. • In this daily devotional, Mr Spurgeon presents the Lord's amazing promises in the Bible - one promise a day for us to meditate upon. The title for each promise was given by Mr Spurgeon. • It is in the Public Domain. • #CharlesSpurgeon #Spurgeon #dailydevotional • This devotional is published here in the afternoon (UK time), whilst the twice-daily devotional ‘Morning Evening: Daily Readings’ by Mr Spurgeon is published in the morning and in the evening. May the Lord bless us through these 2 devotional series. • God bless!🙏 • ~~ • Then the remnant of Jacob shall be in the midst of many peoples, like dew from the Lord, like showers on the grass, that tarry for no man nor wait for the sons of men. Micah 5:7 [NKJV] • If this is true of the literal Israel, it is much more true of the spiritual Israel, the believing people of God. When saints are what they should be, they are an incalculable blessing to those among whom they are scattered. • They are like the dew - for they refresh those around them in a quiet, unobtrusive manner. They minister to the life, growth, and joy of those who dwell with them silently but effectually. • Gracious men and women, coming fresh from heaven, glistening like diamonds in the sun, attend to the feeble and insignificant until each blade of grass has its own drop of dew. • They are little as individuals, but when united, they are all-sufficient for the purposes of love which the Lord fulfills through them. Dew drops accomplish the refreshing of large acres. • Lord, make us like the dew! • Godly people are like showers - they come at God's bidding without man's permission and license. Godly people work for God whether men desire it or not; they no more ask human permission than the rain does. • Lord, make us therefore boldly prompt and free in Your service wherever our lot is cast. • Amen. • “Rain down, you heavens, from • above, and let the skies pour down • righteousness; let the earth open, let • them bring forth salvation, and let • righteousness spring up together. • I, the Lord, have created it.” • Isaiah 45:8 • “Let my teaching drop as the • rain, my speech distill as the dew, • as raindrops on the tender herb, • and as showers on the grass.” • Deuteronomy 32:2 • “Let your light so shine • before men, that they may see • your good works and glorify • your Father in heaven.” • Matthew 5:16 • “just as the Son of Man • did not come to be served, • but to serve, and to give His • life a ransom for many.” • Matthew 20:28 • “And whatever you do in • word or deed, do all in the name • of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks • to God the Father through Him.” • Colossians 3:17 • #Jesus #Bible #FaithInJesus #Christian #ChristianMotivational #Devotional #Motivational #Inspirational
