This Academy Award winning documentary follows a team of activists, filmmakers and freedivers as they embark on a covert mission to penetrate a remote and hidden cove in Japan to expose a dark secret- the systematic slaughter of thousands of dolphins. • In this excerpt, former dolphin trainer Ric O'Barry has come to Taiji, Japan in search of redemption. In the 1960's, it was O'Barry who captured and trained the 5 dolphins who played the title character in the TV series, Flipper, setting off the global trade of dolphin capture. • • The Cove is directed by Louie Psihoyos and produced by Paula DuPre Pesmen and Fisher Stevens.
