Here are some belemnite finds I made. These fossils are the ancient remains of a sea creature 🦑also known as “thunderbolts.” They were commonly called thunderbolts in England because people believed they were formed by lightning strikes, they surrounded them with myth and legend! I hope you find some fossils along the Jurassic Coast-at low tide. Sometimes fossil hunting turns out to be treasure hunting, especially when you are trying a bit of sieving. The Jurassic Coast really does have some stunning fossils. I recommend wearing safety glasses and sturdy rubber gloves when hammering the right rocks. Remember the cliffs are dangerous and liable to fall suddenly and without warning. Keep away from the dangerous cliffs. The best fossils are washed out onto the beaches at low tide, by the sea's actions. Look out for the slippery seaweed on the ledges and rocks. I offer fossil walks along the Jurassic Coast on the following website, so feel free to take a look at the website I made, with our online fossil walks ——————http://www.lymeregisfossilwalks.com There is a fossil collecting code of conduct in place along the Jurassic Coast
