November 2022 Meetup of the Triangle OpenStack User Group: https://www.meetup.com/triangle-opens... • What if I told you that you can automatically deploy and manage Kubernetes Container Platform across multiple failure domains/availability zones with AZ aware cloud storage, multi-tenant isolation, built-in firewalls, security groups and auto scaling capability? • You would say, No problem! I can achieve that with any public cloud. • But what if you were tasked to do it on-prem with OpenStack? What if you needed more than a Virtual Machine can provide? What if I told you that you can have all of that in your own datacenter, plus ability to run and manage your Kubernetes over a mix of VMs AND Bare Metal? • We will discuss the shortcomings of layer-2 networks and how layer-3 network protocols help address those. We will take a in depth look at Red Hat OpenStack Platform 17 and its integration with FRRouting (FRR) to implement dynamic routing using BGP protocol as well as use of BFD (Bidirectional Forwarding Detection) protocol which is used for detecting network failures. We will also take a look at how ECMP is used to provide both high availability and load balancing in OpenStack control and dataplane networks. • Finally, we will demonstrate the integration between Kubernetes/OpenShift and Distributed OpenStack architectures • Learn more about the global OpenInfra community: https://www.meetup.com/pro/openinfradev/ • Connect with us: • OpenInfra Twitter:   / openinfradev   • OpenInfra LinkedIn:   / open-infrastructure-foundation   • OpenInfra Facebook:   / openinfradev   • OpenInfra Website: https://openinfra.dev/
