Kung Fu vs. Wushu vs. Karate. I trained karate as a kid, wrestling as a teenager and college student, and traditional Chinese Kung Fu for the past nearly 20 years. Wushu is not Kung Fu. Wushu is the performance art form and competitive sport which showcases the spirit of traditional Chinese Martial Arts. The roots of Japanese Karate stem from Chinese Gong Fu. Old school, traditional, real Kung Fu is powerful, simple, efficient, effective, devastating, and fun. I would say old school traditional Kung Fu shares more with Karate than it does with modern day Wushu! What do you think?
