Day 09 | Prayer of Faith • LUNAR 7TH MONTH 30-DAY FAST PRAY 2023 • 2023年农历七月三十天平安月禁食祷告 • 七月初九, Day 09 | 24-08-2023 | 星期四 Thu • THEME: Prayer of Faith • TITLE: Let’s Pray with Faith • DAY 09: Prayer of Faith • Matt 21 :21 -22 • Jesus replied, “Truly I tell you, if you have faith and do not doubt, not only can you do what was done to the fig tree, but also you can say to this mountain, ‘Go, throw yourself into thesea,’and it will be done. If you believe, you will receive whatever you ask for in prayer.” • Illustration • An elderly Korean lady attended her church’s early morning prayer meeting every day. And without fail, she brought her husband’s empty shoes. She’d carefully lay them on the front pew of the church. Then she would pray: “God you know my husband needs to know You. Please bring my husband here to fill these shoes!” • One year—almost to the day she began praying —God answered her prayers. There beside her in church —and wearing his shoes, mind you!! —was her beloved husband. The same day, he put his faith in Christ. • Got a pair of shoes that need filling? Bring them to your heavenly Father. He hears and answers prayer! • Comments • The Theme of our 30-Day Fast and Pray for this year is “Prayer of Faith.” What is a “Prayer of Faith?” Our Lord Jesus tells us in today’s text that we “do not doubt”what we ask for. In other words, we need to believe that what we pray for we will receive. • Praying without faith is merely mouthing words perfunctorily; and is not a prayer at all. Why pray at all when one doesn’tbelieve his prayer will be heard and answered? • Does that mean we need to have a lot of faith for God to hear answer our prayer? Thankfully, God does not answer prayer according to how much faith we have, but according to His own nature, His will and His word. So beloved, we can pray with faith because our God is a faithful God Who hears and answers prayer. • Let’s Pray : • “Dear Heavenly Father, thank you for being so gracious and merciful to us, for you know we are weak vessels. • • Thank you that You answer prayers not according to how much faith we have, but according to Who you are, according to your Will and what you have spoken and promised in your Word. • • Thankyou also forgiving us your Holy Spirit to lead and guide us into your truths, and to reveal your will and promises to us so that we can pray according to them. • In Jesus Christ’s Name we pray.
