As Christopher Kelley explains in this video, we don’t know much about Planet Earth if we don’t know much about the deep sea. After several years of exploring the deep-sea environment in the Atlantic and Caribbean, NOAA Ship Okeanos Explorer crossed the Panama Canal into the Pacific in late 2022. This new chapter began with a season of stunning remotely operated vehicle and mapping expeditions in west coast and Alaskan waters.
