Returning for another year after the success of the 2023 tour, UK railtours would once again bring passengers down from the midlands to sunny Sussex. • The tour itself would begin at Nottingham in the early hours of the morning, the tour would work south towards London and eventually into East Grinstead, the Bluebell’s northern terminus. The tour would have a pair of Class 73 lead the tour on the way to the Bluebell with a Class 66 on the rear. As the tour departed, similar to last year, the tour would be hauled back as a triple header as the two 73s would lead the 66. • Happening in conjunction with the Bluebell’s successful beer festival, the tour would have work around the Bluebell’s intensive timetable. On Bluebell would service trains would see Britain’s newest steam locomotive, Beachy Head, would once again take to the tracks while rubbing shoulders with the Swanage Railway’s Class 33 33111. This would be the final time this year that 33111 would operate service trains as after the beer festival, she would be withdrawn ahead of a full cosmetic overhaul. The tour itself would mess with the Bluebell’s timetable as it would be a few moments late.
