My rendition of the French organist and composer, Maurice Duruflé's Prélude sur l'Introït de l'Épiphanie (Prelude for the beginning of the Epiphanyi. It is one of his only liturgical compositions and the organ music is played on the Hauptwerk sample set of Caen - St. Etienne by Sonus Paradisi. A great romantic and symphonic Cavaille-Coll organ to play when you don't have one just nearby. • This short prelude is based on the introit plainchant 'Ecce advenit' originated from Mass of Epiphany . It runs through a lot of time signatures but still managers to flow seamlessly through the sound of mixtures and trompettes. • Epiphany follows Christmas and is in western christianity also known as the Little Christmas .
