Dear Primary 6 Children, • PSLE Oral is coming up next Monday! All the best to the P6 students and you have got this! 💪🏻 • We are so excited as it is now time for you to shine after all the hard work you have put in! • Here are some final reminders for your PSLE oral. • Overall preparation: • ✔️ Practise the reading passage at least 2-3 times in a soft yet audible manner (as opposed to reading in your head) and take note of any areas where you are stumbling and words which you have difficulty pronouncing. • ✔️ When examining the stimulus, do try to predict Q1 and prepare your answer accordingly (using RASE) and think of accompanying personal experiences relating to the topic. • Reading: • ⭐ Source the passage for ‘the’ words and differentiate between /the/ and /thee/ (use /thee/ before words beginning with a vowel sound e.g. /thee/ annual, /thee/ opportunity etc.) • ⭐ The pronunciation of ‘their’ sounds like /there/ NOT /Dey-ar/ • ⭐ Do sound out the end consonant sounds like /s/, /t/, /k/, /ed/ • ⭐ Use appropriate expression for the direct speech (look at the content of the speech and the speech tag given). • ⭐ Hold on for 2 seconds at the end of passage before putting the passage down to avoid rushing through! • Stimulus-based Conversation: • 📢 Organise your points clearly with connectors like “Firstly”, “In addition”, “Next” etc. • 📢 Use accurate tenses especially past tense when sharing a Story. • 📢 Always link your RASE to the question to make it relevant. For Q1, remember to link all bright ideas to the stimulus. • 📢 Add in how you feel/ your opinion to create more personal answers. • Remember to make eye contact, speak clearly and exude confidence. • We are keeping every single one of our P6 lil’ ones in prayer 💪🏻 All the best and you can do it! • #shorts #ExamRevision #PSLE #English #oral
