We are going to install Tow Ready T1 connector part number 118369. First step is to access the rear cargo area. First were going to remove the rear threshold. We have got two fasteners to remove first. The two top side fasteners removed, we will go ahead and remove the spare tire cover and set it aside. • • And there are two more fasteners inside next to the spare tire. Next we are going to move the drivers side rear trim panel. First we are going to need to remove the whole down screw. Next we will get in behind the plastic with a trim tool or flat bladed screwdriver and slowly and easily pry the trim panel away from the sheet metal so the fasteners will disconnect themselves. To give myself a little more working room behind the trim panel, I am going to go ahead and remove the forward cargo hook also. • • You can see there is a plastic cover, covering up the cavity in between the sheet metal of the interior and the exterior, just inside that cavity is the green plug that will plug in our Tow Ready T1 connector. Take the green plug end of our Tow Ready connector and plug directly into the manufacturers connection point. Once connected then we will slide the red locking tab over and lock it into place. Now we have got our connection made, we will go ahead and reinstall the cover to the access hole and route our wire and converter box over to be mounted. There is enough room in behind the trim panel to mount our converter box on a flat clean piece of sheet metal, here behind the drivers side tail light. • • Now we can go ahead and reinstall our trim panel. With our rear threshold reinstalled, we can go ahead and reinstall the spare tire cover. Now let us go ahead and show you how to use it. Simply open up the cargo door, open up the spare tire cover, take your wire, drape it out across the bumper and down to your hitch or accessory. Simply close the door on the wire. The weather seal is thick enough that it will not harm the wire. • • Then when you are finished using your new 4-pole connector, simply take it, roll it back up and store it in on top of the spare tire. And that completes the install of our Tow Ready T1 ready connector part number 118369 on a 2002 Jeep Grand Cherokee.
