In this video, I perform a very convoluted 1TB storage upgrade on the A12Z-based Apple Silicon Developer Transition Kit! From the factory, these only came with one set of specs; an A12Z SoC with 16GB of RAM, and 512GB of soldered onboard storage. After a lot of work, and with some help from an A12Z-based 12.9 iPad Pro logic board, I was able to get 1TB of storage working on the DTK! • If you haven't seen my previous video of the initial repair and restore process of one of these DTK boards, you can watch that here: • Apple Wanted this DESTROYED... • 0:00 Intro • 2:50 Verifying NANDs are blank • 4:26 DTK NAND upgrade method explanation • 5:51 Reballing NANDs for iPad board • 7:39 Installing NANDs onto iPad board • 8:47 Attempting iPad restore with blank NANDs • 11:12 Removing NANDs from iPad board • 12:28 Programming NAND syscfg for DTK • 15:24 Reballing and installing NANDs on DTK • 17:20 Restoring the DTK with new NANDs • 19:11 Final testing and conclusion • #applesilicon #mac #upgrade
