Hopefully this video makes it more clear just how loose Edea is in the ankles. If you don't want to adapt to this style of skating, then buy a different skate brand. • Edea had to heatmold my boots to make more room for my bony ankle bones, navicular bone, and to give my pinkie toes a tiny bit more room. I put them on and practiced off-ice jumps in them in the Edea shop so I could figure out the pain points . They were heatmolded twice the same day based on me jumping in them off-ice. Don't leave the shop until you're satisfied you've got the best fit possible. • I had immediate severe arch pain from the footbed. Edea cannot heatmold the footbed. So you must get your own arch inserts to deal with this. This is what I use underneath the foot insert: https://www.amazon.com/Dr-Scholls-Sty... • Experiment and move it around until you find the right spot for support. Mine needed to be further forward than I expected. • They tried to give me a size 265, but I asked for size 270 since I like being able to wiggle my toes a bit. Size 265 was so tight I couldn't wiggle a single toe. Let the Edea pros guide you in getting a proper fit, but YOU are the one wearing the skate, so YOU need to tell them what doesn't feel good so they can try to fix it via different size or heatmolding. • I skate almost daily. I think it took about 2 months for my ankles to get strong enough that I was 100% back to normal on all my jumps/spins and footwork. If you don't skate daily, it's going to take longer for your ankles to adapt. • I highly recommend you get Edea fitted in person. My old Jackson Freestyle skates fit me out of the box. But Edea definitely did not fit me out of the box and required a lot of heatmolding to make them comfortable.
