These blankets make great baby shower gifts, and are super easy to make! The back wraps around the front fabric to make a border, which is easier to do than you think. You can use any kind of fabric you want, but I’m partial to flannel and minky. If you’re looking for a fast, easy, beginner sewing project - this is it! • //TIPS FOR SUCCESS • Sometimes the extra fabric in the corners can poke out, especially after you wash it. To prevent this, make your border two inches or less. You can also sew a straight line down the open edge of the corner with a matching thread to close it up. • If you use a slippery/stretchy fabric (like minky or jersey knit), use LOTS of clips/pins to help prevent the fabric from moving. • //WHAT I’M DRINKING: • Gin Mule (With Wild Roots Gin) • https://www.wildrootsspirits.com/lond... • β€ Please Drink Responsibly β€ • //WATCH NEXT: • Hooded Baby Towels: • DIY Hooded Baby Towel // QUICK and EA... • DIY Nursing and Car Seat Cover: • DIY Car Seat Cover Nursing Cover //... • Baby Nest: • How to Make a Baby Nest // STEP BY ST... • SUPER Easy Baby Blanket: • How to Sew a Baby Blanket // The EASI... • //SUPPLIES: • 1 yd flannel for front (or other fabric) • 1.5 yd minky for back (or other fabric) • Quilting Ruler (or other measuring implement) - https://amzn.to/3tjEnxD • Pins • Fabric Scissors or Rotary Cutter - https://amzn.to/3aCIix4 • Need a Sewing Machine? - https://rb.gy/pcyuui • My Sewing Table (Similar) - https://rb.gy/q8tyxm • Latest Sewing Supplies from Joann Fabrics - https://rb.gy/tfxhne • HUGE Fabric Selection from Joann’s - https://rb.gy/ddu8dd • //CUTS: • 31”x31” square for top (x1) - make slightly bigger for a lap blanket • 35”x35” for back border (x1) - Makes a 2” border • HOW BIG TO CUT THE BACK: Take the number of inches you want your border to be, multiply by 2, then add that number to how big you cut the front. • EXAMPLE: If you want a 3” border and you cut the front to 31” by 31,” then you need to cut the back fabric to 37”x37.” • //LET’S CONNECT • Instagram: / drinkandsewthings • Facebook: / drinkandsewthings • Etsy: https://etsy.me/2TIIX7L • //DISCLAIMER: Some links included in this description may be affiliate links.
