Join Melissa Paone Somma, the Chakra Witch as she talks about the Pagan Sabbat (holy day) of Imbolc, the turning of the Wheel of the Year from Winter to Spring. • Imbolc, also known as Candlemas or Brigid's Day, is a traditional Celtic festival that marks the halfway point between the winter solstice and the spring equinox. It is celebrated on February 1st and is a time to honor the increasing daylight, the early signs of spring, and the Celtic goddess Brigid. • The name Imbolc is derived from the Old Irish word Oimelc, meaning ewe's milk. This reflects the time when ewes begin to lactate as they prepare to give birth to lambs in the spring. • Imbolc is a time of purification and cleansing, symbolized by the melting of winter ice and the emergence of new life in the natural world. The use of candles is prevalent during Imbolc to represent the returning light and the increasing strength of the sun. • This special and powerful time is for introspection, renewal, and anticipation of the coming warmth and light. • Check out our ongoing classes, events, rituals, and more at this link--both in-person and online options are available: • https://www.mylightclub.com/special-e... • Like our video?
